In accordance with its statutes, the German ITI promotes mutual understanding among the world’s theatre cultures. It is committed to the freedom of artistic expression and to preserving and developing the cultural diversity of theatrical forms of expression and modes of production. In cooperation with other ITI centres and artistic partners, its range of activities includes information work, consulting, and organization.

This section provides space for a general introduction. The Centre of the Federal Republic of Germany of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) is part of the International Theatre Institute. It is composed of individual and corporate members and, as a non-profit association in Germany, receives public funding for its projects. The office is located in Berlin.
