Apply for the Translators' Workshop by 15 February!

The International Theatre Institute – Center Germany, together with the Mülheimer Theatertage and with the support of the Goethe-Institut, invites translators of German-language drama to the festival in Mülheim. The invitation to apply is open to professional translators and young professionals worldwide in all target languages who translate drama from German and have a connection to theater practice in their country. The eight-day workshop will take place from May 22 to June 6, 2026. The exact dates will be announced with the invitation to the workshop.

The workshop stands for the close connection between practical translation work and the examination of current theatre, staging and writing practice in the German-speaking world. The focus is on the translators' concrete work on texts from the festival selection, attending the performances and discussing the versions of the invited productions together.
